Heritage Moving FAQ

Heritage provides a complimentary in home visit by the company owners to determine the process and the cost of your move. The estimate is a “not to exceed” estimate meaning the move will be billed at the actual hours below the quoted amount, but cannot exceed the quoted amount, no surprises! Heritage does not require a deposit and does not collect until the move is 100% completed to the homeowner’s satisfaction. Heritage Moving & Storage accepts checks, cash or credit cards.
All of our employees are OUR employees; we never use temps or labor pool help. ALL of our employees are uniformed, clean cut, background checked and drug screened. Heritage Moving provides you with actual cash value insurance coverage on all your belongings while in our possession at no extra charge, NOT the .60 per pound of item weight provided by most moving companies. (They WILL charge extra for ACV coverage).
Yes! Heritage will handle your piano ( upright, saloon, baby grand ) with certified perfection. Heritage will also move Gun Safes up to 550 lbs. Heritage will move Grandfather Clocks provided the pendulum and inner workings have been prepped for moving.
Yes.
Heritage Moving will place all items in your new home at your direction, re-assemble all items taken apart by Heritage Moving.
Heritage Moving will carefully pad and wrap all items to be moved, to include the removal and wrapping of all glass shelves & glass table tops if applicable. Heritage Moving will pad all door jambs & hard surface floors & railings as well as install protective floor runners throughout the home. We will cover and or shrink wrap all upholstered furniture and bag all mattresses prior to moving. Please refer to our “MOVING TIPS” below for more helpful information.

APPLIANCES
Refrigerators – Empty all food and secure or remove shelving. Disconnect & drain ice maker line, remove and contain auxiliary hoses. Tape the electrical cord to the back of the refrigerator.

Washers – Remove & contain hoses. Place hoses in a sealed plastic bag to prevent damage to the drum. Front load machines come with shipping bolts from the manufacturer. Please have the bolts accessible for our movers to install.

Dryers – Remove & contain the vent. Tape the electrical cord to the back of the dryer.

LAMPS
Remove the shade, bulb & harp. Wrap the bulb, harp & base and place in the appropriate size moving carton. Package the shade with bubble wrap & place separately in an appropriate size moving carton. Tiffany or glass lamps should be professionally packaged by Heritage. Please ask about our professional packing services.

ELECTRONICS
Heritage Moving & Storage will provide the applicable flat screen cartons with inserts for your move at no extra cost. Smaller components can be packaged using bubble wrap and packing paper & placed in the appropriate carton. Please ask about our professional packing services.

MATTRESSES & UPHOLSTERY
Heritage Moving & Storage will include the mattress & upholstery bags in your moving estimate which is provided for you before the move. The cost is minimal and the proper supplies will protect your soft goods during the moving process.

TOOLS & LAWN EQUIPMENT
Drain power tools of gasoline & oil. Bundle long handled tools together for space efficiency . Wrap & package hand tools in layers with the heavier items on the bottom.

ITEMS TO PACK LAST
Load it last. Unpack it firs. Remember the last items to be loaded on the truck with be the first items unloaded. Set aside items you may need until the last moment and will also need right away at your new home.

Towels – Toiletries – Tissue/Paper Towels – Vacuum Cleaner/Non- Aerosol Cleaning Supplies – Plastic /Styrofoam Cups, Plates & Utensils – Coffee Maker – Coffee Condiments – Cell Phone Chargers
